How to give a 2L account as a gift?

Is it possible to give a 2L account to someone as a gift (ie, pay for an upgrade for them)? And if so, how?

I have been searching forums and FAQs and have not been able to find the answer.

I did find some mention of "gift codes", but apparently that is something that was discontinued in January, so no help there.

Would appreciate any information!

Be careful when doing this.

First time I tried it, it did NOT have the desired effect.

1) It sends an email stating that person X has given you a premium account.

2) It gives them USD credit, and THEY have to do the upgrading themselves.


So... what it looks like, is that you just tossed money at them for no discernable reason, especially if they used an email addy that they rarely check! Crass and tacky.

I would tell the recipient first, so hopefully will not be thought tacky.
