Can anyone help me out. I want to be able to track the people who buy stuff in my clothing store. A simple database that allows for customer names, email address , the product and date they bought and a field for notes.

I need it as simple as possible. It is so sad...I can design a dress, make the prims, do some amazing things in photoshop, compile and bake it, adjust everything and make some very nice product photos....but can't make a simple database....

Please..can SOMEONE help me?

You can just download your transaction history and add your own fields to an excel spreadsheet for extra information you might want to keep. I'm not sure if that is too simple or you want something more than that.

That's how I do it too, DL and put it in my own Excel Sheet.
Data like email isn't available, but then again, you really need that? I don't

That's lovely, and I can see the point of a database, but I doubt I would buy anything which required me to submit my email address.

Yeah, I don't see anybody giving up their email address unless you were offering coupons or a newsletter or something they might want emailed. Personally, I have my sales info in a MySQL database.

My store is La Conejita Designs. We have a request for offline email for product updates for those that want it. I am finding about a 20% rate on emails. I have transactions downloaded, I also have a notification script that sends me an email for every item purchased...

I have excel, but NO idea how to use it...I can do magic in photoshop, but excel is a mystery.

I'll try to cobble something together. Thank you.

Oh..and my slurl is http://slurl.com/secondlife/Harlman/97/178/29/

We specialize in risque gowns and clothing.

The simplest thing to do is download your transactions each month. Put a calendar reminder into your email/calendar program that pops up on the last day of every month and download your transactions for the month into Excel.

I name mine SL Transactions (month) (year)

SL Transactions Oct 09

On that note, does anybody have some kind of nifty transactions xml to sql importer script?
And a nice backend system for statistical data on sales based on that (my)sql database?

If so, send me a PM/IM, maybe interested...
If not, would anybody be interested ;)

OT: for basic sales registration, use excel, as suggested. (Good for monthly/running totals and average sales numbers)
For sending updates/notices to customers, either use an in world group, or a system like subscribe-o-matic (which is free for first 500 customers)
