How come when I switch my Environment Setting to night time my glow lights do not come on? They only come on when I wait for the Default Region night time. I also noticed when the sun sets, I'm facing east and the sun light effect is reflecting off everything behind me. But when the sun is nearly all the way down the sun light effect suddenly reverses and is in my face until it goes down completely.

Lights that are scripted to come on when it gets dark can do so only on a timer, it gets dark at specific SL times and they just come on when it's the right time. If you've changed your client settings, the light won't know that. It can only stick with its timer. No idea about the reversing sun thing, I don't think I've noticed that effect before.

It's like that at sun rise also. The sun light effect is on the same side as the moon as it comes up, then there is no sun light effects at all for a while then as the sun comes up even further the sun light effect switches to the east where it should be.
That's sounds reasonable about the glow script not working with the Environment Setting though.

the sun, and the moon, are both light sources.

My scripts for automatic lights, fireflies, bats and so forth are all set to check the position of the sun and to trigger if it's below the horizon. I just did a quick check and the reported sun position is based on the region default and does not change if you override the daylight settings -- the crickets will keep on chirping even if you set it to midday.
