Yes I am a kid avi in SL and yes it says in my profile i'm over 18 blah blah..anyway..awhile back I had a Candy Cane hunt and this girl came and accused me of age play..whats new? Well now shes got a poem about me in her picks and it talks about shooting me in the head. She doesn't have my whole avi name in there but just my last name and the description of what was going on that day when she came to me and reported me. I reported her for this and a resident told me they wont do anything. Is this true? LL lets us get abused like this? Do I have to get her to admit it before they can do anything?

Yes... That's harassment. You CAN AR for profile contents, especially if it's defaming. "Not doing anything" isn't something I see the Gteam doing. They're just not telling us what they're doing. The thing is. It seems we don't know the rules anymore either. Changes were made just below the resident radar and we're slowly finding out the changes the hard way day by day. (>_<

Asshattery seems to be on the rise, which can be expected Iguess with every new sign up spike. It is becoming increasingly annoying to where I go inworld less frequently and tend tend to only go places where there are no people, and explre SL by myself. It's getting to where I can't go shopping anymore without running into one form of idiot or another.

Contact some of the other 4390 avatars who have the last name Dumpling, and tell them to file an AR if they are offended by it.

If one feels strongly about preventing child exploitation, or helping survivors of abuse, there are several constructive outlets. First, there are charities one can give to. Also, one can volunteer to be a mentor. I won't post links. Such organizations are easy to find and always in need of volunteers. Contact your local church or community center. Many people feel that these activities have a direct effect on child well-being. Compare this to the futile activity of "righting of all the wrongs" in a virtual world. Though, there might not be a good amount of juicy drama associated with it. Therefore, I conclude that's what your harasser is after.

Ah, but see, the former requires them to actually *gasp* expend some effort on their part to help others. By ARing every child avatar they see, they can pat themselves for being good, helpful people without nearly as much effort.

Yes, this person is harassing you, Elora! There is certainly nothing wrong with ARing it once and then putting the idiot on mute and ban 'em. And if you do have your friends AR 'em.. don't have your friends TELL them they are ARing, kay?

I would definitely report it as harassment, but you will have to include a lot of backstory, given the inclusion of only your last name.

Being accused of age play simply for being a kid avvie is, I'm afraid, not new. I will usually file a counter AR for that when they do such, just to make sure that I can make it clear what I was doing at the time.

Thanks to those who helped..and to you who have nothing better to do than troll..get a life please. Some of us are very sick in RL and cant do anything but stay home and play games and we play SL to escape..i'm sorry if you think its ok for people to hurt others.
