I know I can copy and paste Unicode symbols into various SL text boxes (chat, group tags, etc). An example is code 2665, a heart ♥ (which you might or might now see here). In MS Word I can type 2665 Alt-X and insert that symbol. Is there a way in the SL interface to enter unicode symbols in a similar manner without needing to copy/paste?

Some you can type using the number keypad. A list is here:

If there is something you are looking for that's not there, you can dig through the chatacter mapper in Windows. I load up "Arial Unicode" as the font but any unicode font will do. This can give you access to some wired symbols and letters.
➀➁➂➃➄➅➆➇➈➉ They don't all show up in most browsers, but if you copy and paste that line into SL chat, you should get the numbers 1 - 10 each in a little circle. _____________________
