I wanted to ask those on these forums that use this stream service what they think of the service. My SL wife and I have already looked at pricing and are in fact considering purchasing 2 streams from if they are good. So my questions...
How is the uptime? Do you ever have trouble connecting to your stream?
How is the quality and reliability while you are streaming, do you ever have server side issues with it dropping out or claiming you "Overloaded" it?
How is the customer support if you do have an issue with the stream?
Our reason for wanting to know is we are with another stream provider that is more expensive but we are extremely happy with them so far, we have had no issues, and support seems excellent should we need it. The price and flexibility of MuseCast however is attractive to us and will allow us two dedicated streams for only a little more than what we are paying now for one. However we are professional SL DJs and will be using the streams a lot to make our L$ Living, and reliability is first and foremost, we can't have our stream flaking our in the middle of a set and have to contact support, and if we ever did need them in a bind, we would want to know as professionals we can get support promptly, though I would not expect it right then and there. Thought for use even the reasonable reply time of a few days would be too much, My SL wife used the stream we have 6 days a week for at least 1 two hour set, so any significant outage will harm our commitments.

Service is very good. Connection is generally good, although there may be an issue with the US server and some European listeners - I had one DJ whose music seemed to skip. But it was an issue that they couldn't control, really - just a bad hookup between providers. For the cost, however, you can't beat it and it's worth renting for a week or two just to try.

Going to bump this and see if there are any other MuseCast users out there, or if anyones knows a better place for stream provider reviews.

Not really up on Musecast, but if your looking for options, try Neostreams. My stream never goes down except when I take it down. The customer support there is pretty much instant service, and the rates are pretty damn cheap as well.

I was going to post askng for stream recommendations for DJ hosting (I may as well join in when my music is live again, plus I can bore people with my loud screeching high pitched voice ... force people to listen to me reading badly written poetry about household objects ...).
Waits with interest to see what people will recommend/advise.

Based on Cristalle's recommendation in a thread a few weeks back, I went with Musecast, and it has been perfect. Flawless, even. I used a European server, and it seems to work beautifully for my many (ok, one) transatlantic listener(s). I heartily endorse.

As a followup, I switched to the EU server and my skipping problem was gone. It really was not in their hands to fix. Great service by Ey Ren - always nice, very helpful. They also have an inworld HUD that allows you to check your time and start/stop the service. It's well worth the money.

I used Musecast for my first SL gig and I had no problems.... the hud is a handy little convenience too..... The flexibility of rental terms is what really persuaded me.....just rent what you need for however long you need it..... I'd definitely use it again....

Cherry, if you are using SAM Broadcaster you can raise or lower the pitch of your voice by selecting the "S" Over top of the Mic slider in the Voice FX Window. Thanks all for your opinions will likely be talking it over with my other half and give them a try after I cancel my out world stream.

I've been a happy customer of Jamie Otis' SLserver for over a year. Setup is immediate and ongoing service is always helpful. He's got both US and European servers, with options for either Shoutcast or Icecast. Typical setup is 128kbps/100 users. At $4000L/month, it's a little more expensive than some, but the reliable service and convenience is more than worth it.
Prior to that I was using Spinstream, but must note that at the time, quality was capped at 64kbps, with possibility for 50 users. They offered streams for a day, three days, a week or monthly.
A few of my friends use Neostream - not sure what their experiences have been, but I haven't heard any bad things about them.

Another vote for neostreams...
I have not had any problems with them so far. Reliable enough that I have not tested their customer service yet. Reasonable prices for what you get...
