What's the deal with hovering prims?

I always thought that prims rooted on one parcel, but hovered over into another (someone else's parcel) was ARable, but now i'm not so sure. Can someone set me straight? Thx.

Prims centred on one parcel but overlapping into another are technically ARable, yes, although normally it's best just to ask the other person first. ARs are usually reserved for cases where it's been done deliberately to harass the neighboring land owner.

They're hovering there waiting to strike the moment your back is turned. My advice, ask the owner to move them and AR if they refuse or don't respond (so long as you know for definite they have logged on and got your message - don't AR if they haven't even logged on).

If they don't log on for ages, maybe just IM a Linden inworld about it rather than an actual AR.

There's no need to make a scene if one can be avoided after all - that's rather squalid and the sort of thing working class people do.

Thanks for the posts.

I'm in a situation where my neighbor from two sides, had trees hovering WAY into my parcel. i asked politely for her to move them back. No reply. Asked again a week later. She replied that "I'll move them a little but not much because I like where they are". I then politely (a little LESS politely because I was annoyed by her arrogance) told her to please take them back far enough so that no part of the trees hover in my parcel.

Her response to that? She removed all the trees and instead put up HUGE 'phuck you' walls all around my property, and IM'd me saying "there, is that better?"

What did I do? Nothing. I responded with "thank you" and never said another word. The signs were on her property, nothing was hovering into my parcel, and this is mainland and she is allowed to do as she pleases on her own property. I took the high road - as nasty as this girl is (I admit that it is easier for me to do that because I have A LOT of land elsewhere to play with - i could just ignore her till she gives up and removes the signs or moves).

Anyway, thats where we've been until today, when she started placing the damn trees again on her side of the FU wall, so that the branches penetrate through to my side. Now I have the FU signs AND the trees.

I may still do nothing. Was just curious if I had the AR option. Wasn't sure. thanks again.

You can AR encroaching prims, although personally I'd just start a support ticket about it, it's faster :p.

You can AR the nasty sign(s) as well btw, it's harassment given the conversation you had with her. You should be able to get them removed although might take some persistance.

(Edited to add that even if the signs had fluffy bunnies on them, you could still AR them, you can do on your land as you wish, but you can't box someone in)

I think you have no choice but to have giant prim penises overhang her land. I believe honour compels you to do so immediately.

You may now AR her both for griefing you with the signs and for intentional parcel encroachment.
