I'm way late in raising this, so it's probably been discussed somewhere that I can't find, but it seems that the banline height was reduced to 100 m. Is this correct? Or is it just on my property? And is it a fixed height or can it be modified?

Aside from whether I should be using unsightly ban lines at all (it is encouraged by my landlord to reduce lag on the sim by avoiding security orbs and we all add other renters access), is the only real solution an orb when my house goes up to 120 m?

The actual upper limit is 50mts. Not modifiable.
No, you shouldn't be using ban lines... it's rude.
Yes, use an orb.

According to the Knowledge Base, general ban lines are 50m. If you explicitly ban someone from your parcel via the Ban List, they extend up to 768m.

i say don't bother with either ban lines or a security orb ... just get a gun.

edit: or an orbiter if you want to be subtle.

Linden doesn't recognize 'retaliation' as an acceptable reason to violate the TOS. Even if its on your own land, if you shoot or orbit someone without their consent (even if they griefed you first), you can be abuse reported, and sanctioned by Linden.

Note that some griefers intentionally try to goad folks into doing just that. My advice: be patient & allow abuse reports to work their magic.

And the 50 M for general ban on access is from the terrain height. So if the terrain is at 40M, the top of the banned area is 90 M for all not explicitly on an 'allow' list.
