I found this story so amusing, because you can only imagine what the politicians are saying here is what LL must have been thinking back when they had Town Hall meetings. Switch the congressmen to LL, and the constituents to residents, and I think it paints a picture. Although there are elements there not present in SL, such as possibility of real bodily harm. But I figured I would share. My favorite quote: “There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation.” I think LL could learn from this artice too. It has a positive message for 'Government'. http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090731/pl_politico/25646

The trick, apparently, would be to figure out how to only let your pre-screened supporters into the sim, and how to contact the in-world news "reporters" ahead of time so that you can supply them with the questions they are allowed to ask.
I guess you could use access lists to let the shills in, and use alts (or maybe even bots) to fill the sim capacity, so that it would not be obvious that you were keeping people out. On an estate I think you dial down the number of avis allowed in -- you know, to ensure better sim performance.
In RL, you can prevent the press from asking questions by not giving them a microphone, and ejecting them if they try to shout. A problem in SL is that there is no way to prevent people from shouting in Chat. And I don't quite see how to control that using Voice, either.

That is a list of parasites that need go back so selling used cars and door to door insurance. These scumsuckers need to realize they are the employee. If the employers want to yell and rant and rave, it is the duty of the employee to take it or quit.
Makes me wish tarring and feathering hadn't gone out of style.

Makes me wish tarring and feathering hadn't gone out of style. I'd add members of the media, political bloggers and anyone trying to run for office, too.
