So, I have a little cottage on a 'private island'. I'd like to be able to put a teleporter inside this cottage and have it teleport me to a house on my purchased mainland plot.
Is this possible and if so, anyone got a suggestion on a product?

The only thing you could use would involve a map teleporter, something that brings up the map, and then you click teleport.

The only thing you could use would involve a map teleporter, something that brings up the map, and then you click teleport. I just use the Mystitool LM's for that, from my estate land to my mainland house or vice versa; if you want a more 'direct' TP you could try the Jeffries Tube, by Novatech. I use those for direct TP's to all the disability related sims in SL. I have them lined up on a 'tp board' with that sim's texture over each Jeffries Tube. They're easy to use, basically just drop the LM into it. However, as mentioned in anothr post, all of these solutions involve bringing up the map before actually tp'ing. |

Write a script using LlMapDestination, it would bring up the map with the destination highlighted... the user can then teleport directly with that...
http://rpgstats.com/wiki/index.php?title=LlMapDestination It's a straightforward script if you're able, or you could ask in "scripting tips" or "products wanted" |

I have a couple of subfolders in my Landmarks folder.
One's called "1Special Places", and contains about a half dozen LMs of places I go to VERY often. The other's called "2Lebettu" and contains LMs for every significant spot on my 1/2 sim...every rental property, the harbor area, my own home, my private skybox, the public dance floor... These two folders are a lot handier than any in-world teleport system, at least as far as my personal use is concerned. Note that the leading numbers in the folder names mean that they show up at the top of my LM folder every time. _____________________

The Omega Concern's "Shuttle Teleport" does this, but in two steps. If you drop in a LM for a location that is not in the same sim as the Shuttle, then sitting on the shuttle object will open a map with the teleport coordinates pre-entered. Then click the Map's "Teleport" button, and off you go!
Just as easy to have a LM in your inventory, and use that. And a LM giver at each end for friends. _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

I was going to suggest Jeffries Tubes or (Novatech Grid-wide systems) too. They do really just bring up a map, but they have cool effects to go along with it all.
The grid TP systems are cool and you can set them so they only see each other or any of the other thousands of units out on the grid. It can be a lot of fun to random hop and just see where you end up with those. And if you have a place looking for inbound traffic it's cool to set one up someplace in or near your shop (have it so they can leave via that one too or they'll get pissed that you trapped them there). Another cool thing with the Novatech TP systems is that if they ARE on the same sim - it does a normal teleport to them. And if you have their Emdash tool - it has a built in teleporter that will find any active teleporters on the same sim and you can pop to them (handy for moving from the ground up to your sky box and back or whatever). But yeah - unless you have RLV (Like cool viewer with restrained life turned on) there is no "on click - zoom the grid" solution. |
