Twice this week (right now, and a few days ago) I have encountered a rather annoying problem. I crash, but I don't get logged out, so I can't log back in again. The first time, I crashed on a sim where the owner could help me out and restart it. Right now, I am stuck, unable to get the system to realize that I am in fact not on. I've submitted a ticket, asking to be logged off, but I imagine that could take an annoyingly long while.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there anything one can do to prevent it?

I just checked your profile inworld and you're a 'payment info used' resident. This means you should be able to use Live Chat. Head to My Account on the main SL site and click Support in the top bar. At the bottom of the next page, you should see a yellow bar for Live Chat. Click that and select Inworld Live Chat from the following page. You'll be connected to someone who hopefully should be able to help you.

I thought Live Chat was just for paid members, not basic accounts? Either way, I was wrong to assume the ticket would take a long while to deal with. Its already sorted. That was very prompt, I must say. Now, if I could only figure out if I am doing something that is making this happen... never had it happen before this week, though I had heard of it happening before. I did switch to the Cool SL Viewer a while before that, so maybe that is the cause. May have to go back to the regular to be on the safe side.

General question: Is there a way, without logging in, of finding the co-ordinates of where you were when you logged out / crashed? If not, it would be useful for LL to add that info to one's account page. Then you could look it up and send an alt in to bump your ghost. Alternatively it could be displayed on your login screen. Or better still, in both places.

Well - in .....\Application Data\SecondLife\<your name>\settings.xml there is a line <LastLogoff value=xxx> where xxx is a 10 digit number. That must be the information needed. Does anyone know how to interpret it?

Or better still, in both places. I guess the only way, visually, would be to look at the screen_last picture in Users > [Name] > AppData > Roaming >Second Life > [Avatar Name]. As long as you recognise the location, then you could go back there. But I'm pretty certain that only shows your last location when you logged properly; I'm not sure if it shows the last location if you crash. For exact co-ordinates, if you're logging chat then check your chat log for the 'Entered [LocationName] at [Co-ordinates]' alert for the last place you teleported to before crashing. If the last one of those you have is, say: "Entered silent sparrow at 201, 88, 22" then you could be certain that's where your ghosted avatar is.
