2 Second lifes?

I Was Actually Curious to know if anyone knew a way to Run Second life, in Two Windows.....running Two diffrent Second lifes on the Same System. if i try to Open the Game More then once it says "this program is already Running".....i want it to run a Second one.

I'll be greatful for any help.

Select Properties for the SL Shortcut, edit the Target line and add:
-multiple
to the end of the line (space before the dash)

and definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY not a space between the hyphen and multiple like I did on the last update grrr!

Isnt this a bit like trying to fly two jet fighters simultaneously ... a crash(es) is bound to happen ... ?

I logged on as myself and my alt to check some couples poses I was putting into some furniture. Really freaked me out to see both of us sitting cuddled up together on the sofa!

My friend uses her alt to adjust couple animations on sex beds she makes, cuddles are tame compared to that.

Whenever I run two clients at the same time it works for a few minutes but eventually one client starts lagging and then the other until they both slow to a crawl and I have to log them both out.

By the way, this changes slightly in the latest Release Candidate. You now need an extra hyphen. "--multiple" instead of "-multiple". The old way with one hyphen will fail, Mac or Windows, in RC11.

Also, you do need a separate SL account for each SL session that you open. Your main account and an alt, for example. The same account can not be logged on as two instances at the same time, whether on a single computer or on different computers.

Hmm single hyohen seems to work for me ok on RC11

I use a male alt to adjust my poseballs all the time - never bothered me a bit - maybe I am just strange.

When I am running a second client it is almost always for something like adjusting pose balls or checking permissions (or stealing money from their account - ssshhhh, don't tell).

Anyway, in those cases, I set the prefs for the second login way way down in graphics. That helps performance a great deal.

Tested, and yes, you're right, for Windows. A single hyphen in the shortcut properties still works there.

If your main gets told by your own two alts "Do you mind? We'd like a little privacy here.", get very worried...

That sounds like the dynamic bandwidth throttling. When they start to slow down, go to prefs-network and tweak the bandwidth slider a lil, see if they don't speed up again?

Just Stopped By to Say thank you once more. Every thing is working Great for me, just turned down the Grafix on both of them. Runns smooth. Though it is odd to See both of them together....Expecally when someone Comes to talk to ya.....and they don't know it's your Alt. Haha! Fun Fun....
