Hi All,

I know, if someone spams unasked LMs and notes to your visitors you
can ban the person from the parcel and send an AR to LL and sometimes
that helps.

The problem is bigger, when different AVs come to spam several times a
week for ONE SINGLE place. Then it seems to be an organized action or
just a bad way of advertising thats choosen by the owner of the spamming place.

Since it are different AV's each time it seems AR-ing them is not the final solution.
But what would be a good solution? This way, the banlist on the parcel is getting full
soon and the spamming continues.

I don't care about a single spam every now and then. Mostly that is done by people
that just started and who are not realizing how annoying LM and note-spam to
visitors of other places can be. Mostly when i contact them in IM and explain them
they understand it and i never see them back again and i never see spam for that
places again. Then it's solved in a good way, i think ;)

I have tried to contact the owners of the continuing spamming place.
They simply say, talk with the spammers themselves, WE are not spamming.
Yeah, right. Visitors of a place go send spam for a place themselves?
And always know to find us?

Now, what would be a good solution to keep that spams to a minimum?
I have thought about AR-ing the owners of the spamming place, but i
wonder if that would help any thing because they did not spam themselves
and finding a prove for the spamming in the accounts is even for LL impossible.
I hope someone can give some thoughts about it. Thanks.

I would definitely AR the owners. They are the ones who are spamming your place - they send the avs, whether bots or people, so the owners are the ones who are doing it.

IF LL actually wanted to do something about it they very probably could.
If there is any link between the owners of the spamvertised place and the spammers, then it will be in the logs.

I'm afraid this is going to be like trying to control internet email spam, as long as there are unlimited unverified accounts available to everyone, it's unstoppable.

There's a bot available on SL Exchange that is used primarily for sending group invites, but there's also an option to ban any avatars who send notecards or LMs to the bot. Not sure if there are other products that do this, but this one is called "JVA Second Life Bot". (I'm not promoting this product as I didn't make it and haven't tried it).

Hmm so Bots don't like it when I send them my unsorted landmark and notecard folders back? :)
