Room for Rent to Escorts - Worth it?

Hello all,

What do you think about the rent of rooms for escorts and lovers (where you pay for minutes). Worth it?

The owner of my SIM is planning start with this business, but I dont have any idea if people will pay, because actually there are free options as sex clubs, or if you pay to an escort she has her own room, or in the last case you can rent your own land and have a house full of toys and furniture just for you 24/7.

What do you think?

Unless you have your own staff of escorts, I don't think you'll get enough paying customers.

I once set up an extensive area for lovers, with a couple of 'by reservation' rooms that were equipped with sexgen beds and D/s furnishings. The area outside the reserved rooms had lots of pose balls, and a tip jar for those who enjoyed the area.

The whole thing hardly got used, except by a couple of escorts who the client employed, and the client himself.

That would be a hell to the no.
Most escorts have their own houses which typically provide rooms. And there are so many lovely free lover's areas, why pay?

There's a place like that in a sim that I'm in - just there to be freely used for sex, and with a tip jar. It's been there for many months and never gets used.

There's more than enough of this sort of thing already, IMO.

most escorts will not use such rooms.

those that are listed with an escort service usually have rooms at the service to use. or some clubs might still have free rooms or rooms with tip jars. or just take the client home.

Before I bought my home, I used to search out places where I could have real privacy for those moments. I know of one house, which is spectacular. Open to all who care to use it. You can't landmark it, but can near by. It's gorgeous, has everything one could possibly want as far as a lovers nest is concerned. And as Jez mentions, I also found many gorgeous, secluded outdoor areas with beautiful setups there for the taking. You just have to search them out.

I'm no escort, but if I were, I wouldn't be interested since, I'd certainly be making enough to have my own home, and if I wanted to go elsewhere to accommodate a client's wishes, I sure won't be paying anything extra to do so.

I see short-term rentals around, but they tend to be more like a high-class place to take your sweetie for a honeymoon, not no-tell motels. And they tend to be for 1 night, not for a few minutes at a time. It's hard to tell whether these are actually successful, because there are bound to be a lot of vacancies any time you check them out.

The biggest drag and headache in the rental business has to be the turnover. Even when people love your place, they often just "grow up" and want to go buy land (or go try to copy your business model after they learn it from you). This headache is big enough when people only stay for 2 weeks.

In my opinion, an even shorter term rental business would be a huge pain in the ass that would never recoup the revenue needed to pay for the advertising. I don't even see how you could operate it without staying in-world 24/7.

As an escort, I can tell you that familiar places work better than unfamilar ones; and unless a client has a preference, the escort will probably go with what she (or he) knows works. If I take someone to my rental or a familiar place, I can control all the aspects of the encounter and set the scene perfectly for the client.

For places that rent by the hour, the escort will usually want the client to pay. If we have our own place already or a dozen places to choose from that are free and work well, then there's no reason to pay a week's rent for an hour in a place that might not even be ideal.

In my experience, clients like to have the escort take care of the details. Most aren't too particular about where to go, so they let the escort pick. If they have their place already chosen, it's likely to be a place they know too.

An innovative marketing strategy might make this type of business marginally successful, but I think that clubs, stores and themed sims are probably a lot more likely to attract business.
