The thing is I don't like that my av nods off when I need to minimise the client for a while. Even with a high priority stand in my AO, the head will still droop on those neck-free poses I prefer.

So what's the deal with turning off 'AllowIdleAFK' in 'Debug Settings'? I set it to FALSE and I still drop off like a heavily tranked geriatric. I relog to see if the setting takes and not only am I still preternturally interested in my footwear as far as my alt is concerned but 'AllowIdleAFK' has reset to TRUE when I check it again.

You know I look so dip it's twisting my mellow, man.

Thanks, Suze. Copacetic now.

I wonder why the 'Debug Settings' don't handle that?

If your client is minimized, why do you care?

It's easier for other people to tell that you're afk by seeing your av nodding off.

Like I said, I don't like that I look like a tranked geriatric and for that matter I don't like it when other avs 'nod off' because they look equally dumb. It's a matter of personal taste is all.

Generally I have the courtesy to say 'BRB' or whatever if I need to leave the keyboard in company. Otherwise, I often run at least a couple of avs when setting up animations and the AFK anim plain messes with things if I have need of the screen space for another application.

When you have need of the screen space for another application, why not just park that application's window over top of the Second Life window? No need at all to minimize Second Life, then no tranked geriatric avatar.

SL takes significantly less CPU time and uses less of the GPU (generates less heat) when minimized.

On many systems, it also uses less resources when run full-screen than when run in a window, necessitating minimizing when you want to do something else briefly.

So minimization can be important when running on a laptop, or any borderline-adequate machine.

you know I had my alt online the other nite and I got busy doing other stuff and came back to the other computer and there was a notice that you have been logged off do to inactivity. Would the AFK thing work on that?
