I have seen all of these models in jewelry stores and such and wonder how you go about getting a job like that. I don't want to do escort or dancing but just want to model jewelry or clothing.
Can anyone tell me how to go about this?

Look in the employment listings here in the forums.
Contact the manager of the store and ask if they're hiring models. Really, there are no "in's"...you just have to go through the process. _____________________

Star, there are at least three types of models.
1. Runway model. They model several outfits at SL fashion shows. This takes a beautiful av, but it also takes a lot of work to assemble the outfits in advance, so they can be put on quickly, and some skill in changing clothes and operating in general in a very laggy environment (every fashion show I've been to has been a lagfest...too much prim hair, I guess). 2. Photographic model. Again, a beautiful av is required, along with a ton of fashion poses. Many designers model their own clothes, but some will hire a model (and maybe even a photographer). A good portfolio is a requirement. You may have more success if you can both model AND be the photographer...if your work is good. 3. Store model. You have to compete with bots, who work for free. Your advantage is that you can actually talk to the customers and answer questions. Blaze is one of the few stores I know who actually employ sales staff...it's a pleasant touch. Modeling pay is often in the form of free clothing. _____________________

Look up VooDoo Modeling in search. I am an absentee principal of this organization. The folks running it are very serious and have been having some good shows.

Might want to check out this thread from about a month ago: /327/b0/294297/1.html. (Not that there's anything wrong with asking--especially in this case, because searching for past threads could be discouraging, "modeling" being a distinctly overloaded term in SL.)
