I can't believe what I've just done. It really isn't the end of the world, but it was totally and utterly stupid of me.
So it's the time of the month when my tier is due, so I popped along to the LindeX™ to cash out some hard earned L$s to pay for it. Only I wasn't paying attention. Seems I BOUGHT L$s and didn't sell them! I had a look and the transaction has gone though. Can't find a way to stop it, short of cashing them back out again.
What an absolute twit I am!
Anyone else ever done this or anything similar?

Yep. I clicked the wrong link once and bought instead of sold. And I was just as annoyed with myself as you appear to be.

I did even worse. I bought a nonrefundable airline ticket to the wrong frigging destination.

And in answer to the OP, I've not done the buying/selling lindens thing, but I have clicked on many an item in a store and inadvertently purchased an awful, awful item.

From: Lindal Kidd No. Is it even POSSIBLE to have fun at DFW? Thank you for my laugh of the day. I do have an sl gf that had a long lay over in DFW. She has a friend in sl that she interacts with.. He went to the airport: they met for the first time, they had dinner, love at first sight, they are still together. Now you can't have more fun than that.

Sure you can, but it involves several brightly painted machine tools, 500m of tinsel, marmalade and a spork.

I'll be confused along with you, Kira. I can't for the life of me figure out what the spork's for. Anyway, your story is heartening...Hey Rose! Over here, in THIS thread. Proof positive that you can find love ANYWHERE! I spent one of the worst months of my life stuck in DFW one Sunday, trying to get on a flight out...to ANYWHERE. Being in that ring makes me understand what it's like to be a proton in the new CERN atom smasher. People travel at high velocity around the big curved ring, passing the same things over and over. The journey ends when they collide at high velocity with someone traveling in the opposite direction. Everyone who possibly can has their nose in a book, a newspaper, or a laptop, trying desperately to forget where they are.

There are worse airports 4 days snowed in at o'Hare when I was flying alone at 4 years of age was one. Being stuck in London Heathrow the day the air traffic controllers went on strike was another.

From: Lindal Kidd No. Is it even POSSIBLE to have fun at DFW? I'd use my "phone a friend" lifeline and have an unplugged jam session there within minutes. But.. that wouldn't work in too many airports, just DFW and a few others.

From: Lindal Kidd No. Is it even POSSIBLE to have fun at DFW? I can recommend some fun things to see and do in the area if you are interested. If you have the ticket you might as well use it. I do not recommend hanging out at the airport, any airport for that matter.

From: Maureen Boccaccio I hear there's a cool tram there at the airport. It was broken when I needed to get to a distant gate for a flight. There were no workers, no sign, no indication at all how long it would be down. A huge crowd was gathering and assuming it would be fixed momentarily. I gave up, made a run for it, and barely caught my flight. "Cool" is not the word I'd use to describe that tram. On my way back through DFW, my flight was delayed and I spent an unplanned night in Dallas. Then my luggage was lost. My trip was great -- all except DFW.

I once spent about 500,000 points in City Of Heroes on power upgrades, then found out when I tried to equip them that the alt I was playing was Science based not technology based and they were useless

I recently bought an airline ticket in the wrong NAME (passport in maiden name) and the airline wanted to charge more to change the name than the original price of the ticket... I didn't travel.

I didn't travel. I once brought a 2 stage airticket to a smaller city via a bigger one for a holiday, anyway I changed my mind a few weeks in advance to holiday in the bigger city and get a refund on the trip from there to the smaller city, they were going to charge me more to change the ticket than the 2nd flight was worth, so needless to say, I accidently missed the flight from the larger city to the smaller one forfeiting that ticket, fortunately I had somehow "accidentlly"booked accomidation in the bigger city for a week

From: Maureen Boccaccio And in answer to the OP, I've not done the buying/selling lindens thing, but I have clicked on many an item in a store and inadvertently purchased an awful, awful item. I once spilled coffee on the keyboard while hovering my mouse over something in a store I had no intention of buying, but which I thought was impressive and original. In the process of grabbing things and mopping up I managed to click the mouse and spend about L$3000 on something I had no use for. Luckily it was trans and the store owner was happy to take it back and refund me, can't remember where it was, but whoever it was was great at customer service.
