New twist on camping

I think I discovered a camping system that encourages chat, but I don't read Japanese so I can't be sure. I think it works like this:

Avatars sit in small groups. There is a payout for each group at random intervals. The longer the interval the larger the payout. The twist is that the whole pot is awarded to the last person to speak, and so encourages chat. The system is called Chat Camp.

I've described the encounter here, and if you can read Japanese perhaps you could tell me if the pictured sign explains it?

Thats chatcamp, which is very popular.
Your link gave me a file not found.. but basically most chatcamp ... you have to say something in main at least once every ten minutes... or you cant get paid.
it pays out random and bonus..and some also regular X amount for X minutes.
Most of the time the place ends up with regular campers who love talking to each other anyway.. it gives places a nice ambiance.

Thanks for the description, eku.

I hope the problem with the URL was just a copy-n-paste error because I've checked it and it is correct. Please let me know if it still doesn't work, and if it doesn't you can find the article at the top of this blog:

I like this idea! Camping used to be a social event, until the alts and the bots took over.

I am looking forward to the development of bots that say "Hi!" every couple minutes.

So now we will have bots spewing chat.
That's worse than silent zombie bots.

I think we already have chatting bots though. Don't the Club/DJ's bots chatter inanely?

If chatcamp takes off it's going to be awful for anyone who actually wants to chat.
The bots will just spew the same stuff over and over again.
Human operats fixated on the chances of winning the pot will spew whatever.

It's a cute idea in theory, but it's going to be destroyed by greed.

I think anyone gaming the system would probably make sure their bot said something more often.

Say, every tenth of a second.

Because you never know, there might be another bot there...
