How to get your store out of "adult content"

I never meant to be put in this category, but I guess my skin banners was "adult". Understandable.

I am curious if any of the residents have advice on how to get put back in normal listing. I am changing the banners as we speak, as I didn't even know til today my store was considered adult. After the banners are fixed, what steps should I take?

Thank you in advance!

I'm curious how you learned that you're in the Adult category. Did you get a notice from the Lindens identifying what they thought was Adult?

Aside from the actual content on the parcel, a common problem is terms that appear in Search, either from the Name and Description of the parcel itself or of items on the parcel that are set to appear in Search. LL won't say what's on the Forbidden Words List, and change the list to keep us guessing, but if there's any overlap between that list and anything about the parcel's Search text, the parcel won't show in Mature Search (and perhaps that might trigger some alert that the parcel should be in an Adult region).

On the new client that you download off the site, it has 3 categories. Adult, PG, Mature. The only search my place shows up in, is if "Adult" is clicked. However I had to verify myself first, then go to preferences and change that to allow "adult", before I could even CLICK adult. Basically, for a while, I thought my store was not listed at all, and had no way to check adult until I got help.

Skins in themselves are not classifd as adult. My guess is your issue is one of the keywords that you have either in your land iinfo or as the title or description f one of your vendors is an adult word

Welcome to the new world of adult content filtering :-)

Sounds like a search term thing. The new search functions now drop certain words and do not return results for them (as if you did not type them in the first place) See this wiki page for details:

The linden staff have decided to not publish the list of dropped words "to prevent gaming of search". But a lot of us feel its perfectly legitimate for people like you to need to know what words will cause your search entry to vanish. So we independently compiled the list by testing words one by one, and posted it on a third party website. Note our page also lists words that are *not* filtered out, and how variations in spelling and using symbols affect things.

Trying to hide the list of words is pretty pointless, since I have been able to test that entire list manually in about an hour, each time they do a software update. If someone ever writes an automated word tester, it will be even faster, but one hour by one person to defeat their plan of "keeping it secret" makes it pretty silly.

You can test words yourself by just entering them into search when your settings are below adult. The filtered ones will get a message instead of search results.

I don't claim we have detected every word they are filtering, but when you look at the list of words we checked, its obvious we have tried pretty much all the likely ones.

Maybe file a support ticket or get live help and ask someone to come and review your updated store after you have removed anything 'adult.' Also, search is important so make sure any 'adult' words are gone from search, including any ads you have, to be on the safe side.

I thought they said items that are set to show in search wouldn't be used for filtering purposes. Did they change this?
