Anyone know this tune? Okay sing along...kidding. I just finished looking at "Unicorn Woods" I nearly started crying when I saw the price. I'll save you some time, $120.00 US monthly. Outside my virtual budget. If it's in yours, take a look. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Unicorn%20Woods/125/125/34Nice place don't you think? Anyway I'm really tired of following mostly false leads with the land search feature in game. ( Note to land listers: A patch of lawn surrounded by visual gaffitti does not equal woods in any sense, shape or form.) Anyway, my newfound virtual friends, does anyone know of available land to buy up to 1024m that is in a wooded area, perhaps within flying distance of a middle earth sim? Thanks for your help. Who knows, there may be a finders fee if I buy the land. Thanks so much.

Have you asked Salazar Jack about renting land on the edge of the Forest of Kahruvel?
You might also be interested in joining one of the Elven role play groups, which hold sims.

I think I will talk to Salizar, I was hoping to buy , not rent. So, I didn't want to waste his time since he's not selling land at the moment. Maybe he'll have a lead for me. If I go rental, I already have a Hobbit area in mind that I would rent from. I'd much rather buy land, so that I can do some gardening. Thanks for your advice Osprey.

I believe there's some land for sale in Sinaburoe and Dasom, which are next to Noonkkot... which is mostly park.

The best way here might be to pull up the map for the various middle earth areas you are interested in and see what is marked as yellow nearby.

Heartau,
I live around there, I have 2000 of bush and a skybox for building, it's a very good area, chilled out completely, no lag at all and quiet & peaceful people... I've been really happy there. I like the names too, they are all animal nicknames around these parts.

Hi folks
I had dealings with my first truly seedy land baron today. He tried to convince me that Av's having sex openly in the forest was PG and then when I said I wanted children to be able to visit my land, I was told children were not allowed in SL, only the teen grid. A lie, I know. I know it's all virtual, but I still feel the creepy feeling that AV gave me.
Time to rent from some nice Hobbits I think.

Hm. I don't know who you dealt with, but it is correct that (real) minors aren't supposed to be on the main grid. People with 'childlike avatars' are certainly okay on the main grid, but they are controlled by adults.
I have two very real children on the teen grid myself, and they have never been on the main grid. When they turn 18, they will be moved over.
The thing about messing around openly on PG land... bleah. Hard to say if those were neighbours, his tenants, or passers by.
* * * * *
Again, a very strong recommendation that you 'own' your own mainland first, and just a little bit for now. Land you'll be prepared to leave when something better comes along.
Good land will show itself soon enough... if not several magic perfect bits of land. But you'll be in a far better position to bargain if you aren't homeless when you approach the situation.
Good luck.

Anyone who's doing that will have to move to the new Adult continent. And, no, any kids on the main grid are there against the terms of service and will be permabanned if they're found out.

Thanks,
Just to clarify, what I mean about my kids. They're not interested in playing in SL, nor would I let them. I just want to feel comfortable with them looking at what I eventually create in SL without having to explain why two people are doing what they shouldn't do out in the open just outside my property.
I want people to be able to explore whatever I create and I would rather not put up ugly walls to block the view of the neighbors.
What those Avs were doing if it were a movie would be considered R rated not X, and it was in a mature forest. My real problem with this guy was that he insisted that it's allowed on PG land as well and couldn't be avoided at all in all of SL. When I said that I could find places where it was not allowed he seemed amused. He's no doubt a "rules should be ignored" type. He reminded me of a slum lord I once dealt with in RL.

Thanks to all, I found a home among the Grey Elves of Menegroth. I forgot how much I love fantasy roleplaying. Renting for now. I'm happy.
