Having been in world for several hours today, I logged off and on trying to log back in it stays at 'Waiting for region handshake' for a bit then says login packet never received by login server. I have tried about 10 times and each time the same.
Is this SL or my pc having problems?

SL playing up - I've just posted a similar thread as my alt couldn't log in. He got in on the sixth attempt

I've had problems too over the last week with a DNS error which also meant I couldn't access the SL website. The 500 error has now replaced the 503  |

Thanks Deunan, yes I tried 3 different sims, I uninstalled and re-installed SL, re-booted a few times, but still no go.
All I could find on the knowledge base was about firewalls, but mine is set to accept SL anyway.
I am hoping that this problem resolves itself, there is nothing on the Blog or the forum to say anyone else is having problems.
I will try again later and keep my fingers crossed!

Weirdly enough, I'm getting exactly the same error now (main ID, not my alt) and it won't let me log on. My laptop works fine, though, and does let me on. I have changed NOTHING on my main PC, and was logging on quite happily up until a couple of hours ago. Since I can log on on my laptop, LL will tell me it's a fault with my computer. Strange how both our computers mysteriously went wrong at exactly the same time without us doing anything, isn't it?
