Hi

Is there a way of finding out if someone is ever online? I've been trying to contact a vendor but getting no replies.

I'm assuming that the groups detail will only tell you the last login for groups that you are a member of?

Thanks in advance

If you belong to a group that they belong to, and if the member list is visible to you, the date they last logged on will be shown in one of those member lists, in the group info.

If not, then no, you can't tell.

You can IM the person...and it will either go through without an auto reply, or it will tell you they are offline.

Sometimes it lists in the IM window whether they are offline or not.

And also, if you check a group's members...the bold names are online right?

The 'Offer Teleport' button on someone's profile is only active when they're online. I'm not sure if the option to hide online status from everyone but friends in Preferences mitigates that.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Thanks everyone - I though that was probably the case.

Shame there is no way though - For all I know the person I'm trying to contact has given up SL completely and will never come online again. Its a shame there is isn't a sort of "read receipt" ala M$ Outlook ......

Then at least I'd know they have read the message and just can't be bothered to reply :)

I thought that meant that were the creator/owner of the group?

You could always drop them a notecard..... see if they accept/decline it eventually

Correct, bold indicates the owners of a group (one of whom is most often the creator, but not always).

... and if they are online, the groups list will say so.
