There I am, in a store, waiting for the images on the vendor boards to rezz, when a couple tp in a little distance to my left, and start to do the same. They then start to chat, and immediately my avi head swings in their direction, like I am some sort of nosey-parker, which I am not. It is even worse in a busy store, with my head looking this way then that whenever someone speaks in chat. I can understand the reasoning behind this behaviour, and when it is appropriate, but does anyone know if it is possible to switch off this behaviour for those times when it is not appropriate?
Lots of love and big wet kisses,
Rock

Yes it's possiblem I've seen a BDSM posture collar that doesn't allow your head to turn or tilt, you could pull the script out of it and drop it into something else you wore.

lvl4 anis in your ao would do the trick. but i dont know why you would worry about such a thing considering youre standing in a public place anyway.

I've noticed that and worried about it myself. I also like zooming into avatar faces to check out skins and hair, and realized that my avatar then appears to be looking at someone (which I guess IS happening.) I doubt anyone else truly notices it, so I've decided to ignore it.

Hold down ALT

An easy way to stop your avatar from looking automatically at anyone who types is to use your alt button. Just hold alt and left click with your mouse somewhere, anywhere.. the back of your head... and you won't look at them anymore until you move your avatar. Using the alt key and mouse to cam around has the same effect.

I mean, when I see a nice looking woman or man in RL I don't turn my eyes away (Sure, I won't "gaze" at that woman or man.... but I will look ). Morwen.

If it concerns them in anyway, tell them to take their conversation into IM (in which case you won't head wobble in their direction) or tell them to shop elsewhere until you are done.. lol... Its Your World, Your Imagination, Their Problem, They deal with it...

I'm not able to get in-world now to check if I'm imagining things, but when I was adjusting preferences the other day I think I saw a checkbox for looking at other avatars when they chat. Dig around in there and see if you can find it.
