SL's being very touchy for me tonight as well.

One thing you can try is logging into a quiet sim (I use Pooley). If the problem is with your home island, but not SL overall, that can help. On your login screen, you should have a drop-down with the option to log in at Home, Last Location, or <type name>. Pick that last one and type Pooley (or wherever).

If you don't have the dropdown, I think you can activate it through Preferences before you log in, but I can't remember offhand which tab or what it's called.

Hope you get in okay.

It's a Second Life tradition on long holiday weekends. The Lindens always unleash a number of bugs into the system right before they go home to enjoy the holidays. Kind of an easter egg for the devoted. ;)

Sounds to me like you might have a connection problem.

If you never turn off your modem, router, etc., this might be a time to do so.

Are you using a wired or wireless network?

Do you have your ports opened properly?

Have you tried any alternate SL viewers, such as the 1.21 Release Candidate RC1, or the Cool Viewer, or the Nicholaz client?

what Suezanne said.....it's the classic symptoms of a lost connection to the SL servers. The most likely source of the problem is your modem and/or router needing to be reset. Just unplug those from the electrical source and leave unplugged for at least 3 mins.....5 is better. Plug back in and try SL again.

Most of the time Windows will reestablish your network connection back to the internet once you plug the devices back in.......but if not then just reboot your computer. Or you can shut down before you unplug them and reboot once your turn them back on.
