Avatar- Official site with trailer Check out the trailer this movie looks awesome. Ok I have no inside info on this whatsoever. But from watching the trailer and trying to guess what it is about here is what I came up with. Humans discover a Alien Planet, test the environment, then genetically engineer some of the humans to be able to conduct activities on the planet. Thus the name of the movie "Avatar". The avatar being the genitically engineered bodies. Or...they create the bodies from scratch, clone whatever then transfer human consciousness into it. Which again would be a form of an avatar. So watch the trailer! Then my question is what do you guys think its about? On a different note, imagine the look and feel of the trailer as the future of virtual worlds! That would be Wow! With all of the changes that LL has been making lately, maybe someone is seeing the future and getting ready for it, hopefully.

i remember thread waaaay back that brought up the science of downloading ones mind into SL. which is why i think the other post was started. but the movie does look awesome and i will go see it.

If I'm reading right, there's not a virtual world in the movie. There is mind transference into physical clones of alien bodies. Is that right?

They take all the contents stored in the brain of the human (who is a cripple) and transfer it into the empty brain of the cloned alien. I must say though, after watching the 20 min trailer, in 3D, at our local Imax, the trailer on the Apple site does the movie no justice whatsover. This film is mind-blowing. Rock |
