I have a lovely Relic fireplace in my villa, but it's really too Gothic to work now after the rebuild. I've been hunting for an Italian type fireplace all week, and without luck. But I know someone here knows where I can find one, so please...help?

This is along the lines of what I'm searching for...

[Insert obligatory snipe about posting this in Products Wanted rather than RA here]

(No one reads Products Wanted!)

Thank you for the help, clever folks!

This is good opportunity for me to write a few tricks I've learned to coax informaton out of the otherwise cantankerous search functions.

If you key in Italian fireplace in All Tab you get a huge list that is about as good as just hopping around the grid at random -- everything that just happens to have a fireplace and also something Italian. But if you put quotes around it "Italian Fireplace." that narrows it down considerably.

With "Italian Fireplace" I get one hit, Ambience Interactive Furniture. After teleporting there, I just scroll down all the items on their page of the search window until I see the word fireplace. There are a few, but the first one I see is at 53,110,23. I open up the big map and key in those coordinates, press show destination and the big red column takes me right to a pretty cool fireplace not exactly like the one in the picture but arguably Italian. There are others at the store that might work.

This method is a combination of things others have suggested here and there, and it takes some of the tedium out of shopping -- but it could also take a lot of the fun out. I only use it when I want something NOW.

If that doesn't work, you might also try your hand at just building one. the picture doesn't look too hard, except maybe for the grate part.

Good luck!

@ Weston: Thank you! That's a great method to try, when searching! :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I read it daily, multiple times, always checking to see if anything new or unusual is wanted and if I can meet that need

it is a great place for anyone who sells anything or offers any kind of service in SL, to find new customers.

Second Life is special, and Second Lifers the best in any world, but none more so than the folks who people Resident Answers. Many, many, many thanks to everyone who helped me on my silly little quest, and especially to Isablan Neva, who dropped the perfect fireplace on me to put in Cigales. I am touched by your generosity.

I have one in inventory that looks a lot like the one in the picture. It is the 'Venetian Fireplace with fire' by Insky Jedburgh. He does mostly castles and you can find him by searching on 'Ivanhoe Keep' and looking for his fire accessories landmark when you get there. I also found some similar at Antiques Artistry long ago and some not quite as exact there, but might fit.

BTW, I'll sell my copy at a very low price, like L$ 25. Just IM me some time when I am on line. I have more fireplaces in inventory than I can shake a stick at, so it isn't like I need this one.

Just a point that I think some may not know...

There are many creators that will do custom work. This could be creating something brand new from scratch or customizing an existing item in the store to fit your liking (changing size, color or a bit of design). If you're a shopper not finding what you are looking for but you like the overall work of a store you know, IM the owner or drop a notecard on them asking if they'd be interested in doing a custom job for you and what their prices might be. Some may do the customization for free and just charge the cost of the item, some may charge a consultation/customization fee which could be small or large.

We've done this for a long time at our store and find customers appreciate the service AND it often leads us to new ideas we may not have thought of.

You have a collection too? Mine just grew by one more...Skell's Domicile Old Bakery Oven & Fireplace. It fits perfectly out in the courtyard for chilly evenings dining under the stars...

/me grins. Thanks, Skell!

Yeah, Jard not only doubled the size of the house, he reclaimed 200 prims! What a clever man! :)
