As a content creator I wanted to ask.. With the rez issues of Sculpty prims on lets say your boots. Has this influenced your purchasing of these items?

nope, aslong as they look great and fit with the clothing
edit: must add that i bought a pair of shoes that use the resize script, needless to say i wear them but it`s getting so much on my nerves that you can`t deactivate the touch and get the popup menu when flying that i won`t buy items containing this scripts ever again a note about just deleting the scripts, once deleted they can`t be resized ever again so that`s a no no |

No. If the quality of the final product is good, then I can live with the rezzing issue. In fact, I wear sculpted shoes almost exclusively now. I am more dubious about sculpts used as major elements in prefabs though. _____________________

But you can still make an inventory copy then delete the scripts after resizing in a pair.. Just an idea...

Can you make a copy then delete the script? You can do this with the script that I use.. Just a thought.. If they contain resize scripts they're not likely to be mod (most shoes aren't already anyway) so that means you can't delete any inventory from the prim as-is. What you can do is drag the items from the prim into your inventory, but that'll only remove them from inside the prims if the inventory item (in this case the script) in question is no-copy. Since most shoes are always copy the chance of being able to get rid of script in any pair of shoes (or hair, or other prim items for that matter) you buy is almost non-existant . |

just find it stupid that with these sort of things the slave scripts are linkedmessage listeners with no touch() and for the mainscript you just can`t say "/1532 off" for it to change state without a touch() and when saying "/1532 on" it returns to the default state with touch()

It is possible with the script "I" use... That's why it's a suggestion.. _____________________

At this moment, on my alt, she has sculpt hair and the dress that I created uses sculpt also. I feel the overall improvement in quality is good enough to balance out the rez time. Honestly, in the time I'm waiting for a sculpt prim's shape to take, I'm also waiting for the texture to rez anyways.

Is this about sculpties, or resize scripts? To resize scripts: just say no. They are to content theft as Children's Tylenol is to syphilis. Sculpty footwear: Maybe. If one knows for sure there won't be many people around, they're fine. In contrast, if one is going somewhere with a lot of avatars around, one would be wise to wear regular prims; otherwise, to everyone else, your feet will look just as stupidly similar to bocce balls--for just as long--as theirs look to you. (Note: They keep tinkering with the texture loading, trying to get these blobby things to rez faster, but damned if I can detect any improvement.) _____________________

To resize scripts: just say no. They are to content theft as Children's Tylenol is to syphilis. I have a strong suspicion that the designers who use them do so more to keep their "Artistic Vision" from being defiled by plebeian hands. (Note: They keep tinkering with the texture loading, trying to get these blobby things to rez faster, but damned if I can detect any improvement.) The 1.21 client has significantly improved the load times of sculpty maps for me at least. They now load before I even see them most of the time. and back OT: I have stopped buying boots for the most part since very few people seem to make any in the styles I want and the few I have found always seem to be made for 8' avis so i just look silly in them. |

true, but if i miss 1 tiny prim, the clicky won`t go away and then i have to recheck all of them again, got better things to do with a couple hours of time I hope there isn't a script in each prim. Resize scripts don't need to do that. Also, if you remove the scripts that have touch in them but miss a couple prims, only those prims will give you a dialog when you touch them. Only if a script in the root has touch will you get a dialog for touching anywhere on the object. |

Yes, I've avoided sculpty objects because of rez issues. Things may have improved recently, though.

and there is a script in *every* single prim The maker has probably done something horribly wrong, or used a replicator script incorrectly. I've seen one such script that hair designers use to make variants of their own hair, and the last step is to remove all the scripts. Maybe this builder didn't finish the job. |

can`t delete scripts anyway so if they made a mistake or not, doesn`t matters But if it's a mistake you could do the maker and the grid at large a favor by making them aware of it. Fewer scripts, less lag. |

sent a notecard regarding having the touch() removed somehow, notecard was never accepted so not going to bother with unremovable scripts and 278 scripts in the shoes alone, let the rest of the outfit (wich i`ve chopped down so i can left click on my self for navigation)
learned a lesson |

I'm sorry you've been having issues with resize scripts in shoes, Alicia. I use these scripts in my shoes and boots, but they are all copiable, and the scripts can be deleted via the menu, so you can have as many copies (in various sizes) as you want and delete the scripts, keeping an original pair in inventory as a back up.
