I decided to finally do some inventory cleanup and set up a yard sale and have been spending a lot of time boxing things up. Sometime in the next week or two I'll probably be ready to open it up and, given the amount of stuff that is still not boxed, I'll probably run it continuously for quite a while as I continue to add items to it. So... here's the question: In looking at the forums and Search inworld, it looks like there are a variety of **possible** spots for listing my yard sale, though some I am not quite sure about: - Classifieds in Search - Events in Search - Classifieds/Shopping sub-forum - Classifieds/Special Attractions sub-forum Though I am not really sure an ongoing yard sale really meets the criteria for some of the above, I do find yard sale listings in all of those categories. So, besides spamming a few of my favorite groups , what's your opinion on yard sales in the above listing areas?

They are fine there, if you want extra advertising for your yard sale you can post a thread in the forums veiled as asking for help

You could put an ad in your forum signature. Can't hurt.
Also use a title to put a message about it up high over your head.
I don't use the search to find events much any more so I'd not likely be bothered by yard sale listing.
For the forums I'd look in the shopping forum for a yard sale rather than the special attractions forum.

It's against the rules to put an ongoing yard sale in Events (though there are plenty of people who do it anyway, with apparent impunity since they have been advertising the same continuous yardsale for the almost three years I've been here). However, you can advertising if it has a start and end time, and there will be a host "you." If you have regular hours you spend in Second Life, you certainly can post yard sale events for when you are there. You can clean your inventory for the duration of your yardsale event.

I've been on these forums long enough to know that we all hate that. ....but since I am one of the darlings of the forum (in that clique that everyone says exists), maybe I'll try that approach anyway.
