OK, I know that they had 6000 regions or so down earlier today, and last they posted on Grid Status, they had another 500 they were still working on. But my home sim isn't, supposedly, down.
Yet when I logged in, I encountered a new low in SL quality. This untextured limbo went on for several minutes, even after a relog, and only a handful of textures near me ever did rez after several minutes. This was with the 1.22 client, on a Mac...  Welcome to Limbo... _____________________

The problem is the network path. With all that was down, and the way they are coming back up, it is flooding the SL bandwidth, so that textures almost never get to the client.

Did you check Pending Downloads in the stats bar? /me bets it wasn't near 0, where it should be..
I just got the "you have been logged out" message and can't reconnect now. Hey, LL! Gonna give me more time to figure out where I want to be exiled to on zindra because of this?? _____________________

I found SL was working fine except for frequent crashes, the last of which was a grid crash.

I wouldn't say this is a new low Ceera, maybe you forgot the hell of 2006 when they opened up free accounts and the grid over loaded, ground to a halt for 6 months and went down for hours at a time on a daily basis. Today was simply a hiccup, all be it an annoying one. On the bright side at least you now know what your Av will look like in dense fog... in case you were wondering. _____________________

I've seen RL go down to occassionally, we had flooding a few weeks back............ LOL Yup....well said! I was in very briefly yesterday, apparently my island was safe....I hadn't known about the power outage and downed regions. But....everything was fine for me in the 15 minutes or so that I was on. I haven't upgraded to the newest AO friendly client yet cause I was gone, and came home and read about all the bugs.....so I'm waiting until they smooth that out. But over-all I have very little problem in SL. The only thing that's really annoying the heck out of me lately is how the mesh seems to render very very boxy since the previous update.....It never used to look quite so bad. Boobs are square.....heads are spikey....and lets not even talk about crotches!  And lately....maybe last few weeks.....I'm seeing a lot of blurring with skin textures....baking fine, and then fuzzing out momentarily. It's annoying as hell especially when I'm trying to inspect my own work. _____________________
