I want to paste a document from a word perfect document I created, and send it to a notecard, to pass along to others. Is there a way I can do that, or do I have to go back to sl and type it all over again, (i didnt do this before because my sl client lags so bad, its hard to type in a notecard)

Not sure about wrod perfect, i presume it is similar to Word.
You can Ctrl-C (copy) your work, open a notecard, Ctrl-V (paste) and it should be in the notecard. just remember to save and close the notecard before you try to give it to anyone :)

What Claire said :D

Plus rename it once saved, otherwise is just adds to your collection of "new notes". :o

I make it a practice to generate text for notecards and scripts on my PC and copy/paste into SL.
It's way faster.
It gives me an off-world backup.

I do the reverse for any lengthy notecards or scripts I pick up in SL.
I can read/print them in my own sweet time.

It also allows you to run spell/grammar check that way in your word processor document on your PC, before copying it in-world to a note card! I hate reading note cards full of typos!

In addition to what the others said, a few points.

You can only copy the text, and not formatting or illustrations. So save as text-only to make sure you get rid of any embedded formatting commands. Notecards don't have control over fonts, bold, italic, and the like.

For others doing this with MS Word, you can go from Word to a Notecard with a simple copy and paste. But going from a notecard to Word, you'll first have to stop at a simple text editor (Notepad on PC or TextEdit on Mac will do), paste the text from the notecard there, and then re-copy the text to paste from that text editor into MS Word. For some odd reason, MS Mord can't see text copied to the clipboard from SL.
