Need help with Zhao II

I recently got an empty Zhao II. Ive added a few animations to it using a note card (of course). Most of the animations work good.. some dont. One of my walk.. i walk backwards and another one I walk with a noticeable lean.. also, my sitting animations don't sit. There's no problem with the 3 stands i have loaded.. and 2 of the walks are good..

I'm using the default card..

any ideas on what the prob is?

Where did these come from? There are a lot of failed experiments and silly things floating around when it comes to "found" SL animations. The leaning one sounds like a bad upload, walks made with Poser's automated walk designer doodad tend to look like that if they aren't corrected beforehand.

Sits can be especially tricky, oftentimes people don't care about the positioning if it's intended for furniture (can always correct it in the sit script). For use in an AO, you don't get that luxury, it kind of has to be set up correctly on its own.

the Zhao II came from Material Squirrel Wings on Winged Isle and a couple animations came from Vista Animations... All the animations work good when not in the Zhao... The sitground doesnt work at all in the Zhao... and i dont want to have to pay big lidens to get an ao with dumb animations i wont ever use..

Does anyone know how to correct the backwards walk?

Vista's animations do work with that AO, that's basically the same one Vista uses.

One thing you can do for ones that don't seem to be working at all: in SL's preferences, text chat tab, turn on "show script errors and warnings as regular chat", this will show you typos etc. in red text. Well, it will show animation name typos, the AO itself should say if the keywords need help.

If you are getting a backward walk, that is probably going to be the animation itself. ZHAO-II has a little bit of code to let walks reverse, but it only does something if you are walking toward the camera.

Make sure there aren't any extra AOs interfering, some shoes and things like that sometimes have them built in and there isn't any warning from the seller.

Sit overides can also have problems with incorect prioreties, again something that is linked to the animation and can't be changed inside SL.
Also Sit and groundsit overides might need seperate activating.

If the anims work in Vista, they should work in zhao-II. Most likely you have a typo in your notecard. Try asking on the zhao group (see my profile) and ask if someone can give your notecard a lookover. Or post it here, using copy/paste.

Pasting your exact notecard contents will help. Also, check your chat for any error / warning messages from the AO scripts when it's loading up your notecard.

For the ground-sit, you are actually sitting on the ground, right? No offense intended, but I've received many IMs from people who sat on a prim floor and wondered why that animation isn't playing.

Script errors only appear in chat if you've enabled that in Preferences, and it's off by default. But, you'll see a script error indicator on the top of your screen; click that.

How / where do you get these note cards? I searched and asked people, no one seemed to know.

You can pick up an empty AO from my store, landmark is in my in-world profile picks. That includes an empty notecard. You'll need to provide your own animations, and my profile has links to tutorials that show you how to edit the notecard to add the animations to the AO.

If you buy a pre-configured AO (i.e. one that's already been set up with animations), it should come with a pre-configured notecard.

Nimue, if you are wearing a flight assist, try it without that. There are some funky flight assists out there.

And, even if you think you don't have an AO on, try it without shoes ... there may be one silently lurking.
