Kind of hoping someone will have a useful answer for me on this (or at least one that is better than the obvious one)...

Iwas hit by a griefer script attack at a sandbox. As a result I have over a thousand popups to deal with (might be more, that is an estimate based on counting approx 300 and noting now much of the 'visible' section of the notification console they took up).

Other than clicking ignore for each and every one, is there any way to get rid of them en masse?

I can't even AR this near as I can tell.. I didn't note which sandbox I was in , I just got out of there. I can't be sure who sent them either.... mostly I just want them gone though.

Help please????

Someone more knowlegeable than I will come on, but, first reaction: clear cache (from Edit, Preferences window), log out, then try logging on again.

can I ask what the pop ups say?

I would..
detach everything and start placing what you know about back on. Im not sure if its possible someone can attach something to you without permission, maybe you accepted something unknowengly? I dunno.... ??

Clearing the cache did it... I had already checked for any new inventory. There is also a related JIRA regarding the lack of mute buttons (or ability to get around mute buttons). Needless to say I voted yes on that ....

Really really annoying since it was likely an object, right at the sandbox zone in (or close enough to it). I wish I could be sure of the sandbox to report it, but any evidence would clear when the sandbox does....

Edit: As for the content of the popups, I am not going to repeat it. Suffice it to say there is no question it was a griefer attack.

Just a note that there is a feature in the Emerald viewer shields for "Dialog Anti-Spam" along with some settings. I'm not sure and will do a bit more research on this, but I believe it may help in just such a situation. If you have it checked on to start with, that is. I'm also not sure if it actually works as I haven't heard any comments about it. But, it's worth looking into.

Glad you got it resolved, though!

Emerald's anti spam keeps you from crashing due to too many dialogs. The client can easy have so many dialogs up for display that it just stops working.

With Emerald you will still get an ungodly amount of dialogs, you just won't crash from it.
