Is there a way to buy Lindel dollars and not use the card on account? I periodically use pre-filled cards for net security and would love to use them (esp the left over amounts) to by LL's
If possible how does this work?
Thanks for all your help.

Never tried anything like that, but I would assume you just change the card on file. It will make a delay until the info is updated so you wouldn't be able to change cards and buy $L right away.

I have used those before. Yes, you can go into your account and update the billing information to use the pre-paid cards. If you have a gift card, be sure to go to that card companies web page and fill in some info too. That will be what the SecondLife servers will be verifying when you add a new card.
For example, if you have a Visa gift card, there will be a web address on the back so you can go put in a name and address for the "billing" info. I have used my avatar's name before. Then, on the SL account page when you update the card info you use the name and address you put on the gift card's web site. That way when the SL system tries to bill the card it has some information to match up. Also note, when you put in the name and address on the gift card's site it may take an hour or more for the card to be ready to use on the web. |

Would it work if you registered the card as one possible means of payment in a PayPal account, switched between cards there, and listed PayPal in your SL billing info?

Keep your credit card as your SL account payment method.
Set up an account in the marketplace (XStreetSL) Send your XStreet account some money from your PayPal account (you do have one, right?) Buy $L on XStreet and transfer them to your avatar's main SL account. _____________________

The thing I forgot when registering my prepayment card was that SL makes a token withdrawl to verify that the card is genuine. My card charged me £1 for that transaction as it does for every transaction so if you spend £20 on an item your balance is reduced by £21. You can of course pay a monthly fee to avoid the charge but as I do not use it that often it is cheaper to pay for individual transactions.
