Reinstalled, seems k for now.

I can't take it anymore, for the last 3 days my my audio constantly cuts in and out at clubs, the worst of it is that I DJ and it's driving me insane!!!

Home vista premium 64 bit
Service pack 1
Intel Core 2quad cpu Q6600 @240GHz
8 GB Ram

Realtek HiDef onboard sound card

Second Life 1.22.9 (110075) Feb 10 2009 12:43:24 (Second Life Release Candidate)

Seems ever since the update on this the other day my audio has been hosed. I'm ready to stab myself in the ear with a screwdriver.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Aura

RC means Release Candidate. It is a stage somewhere between beta and RTM/Full Release, but considered still beta.

Beta/RC software is likely to have bugs, some of them severe. Generally, release candidates will have had all of its severe, show-stopping bugs ironed out by the time they become release candidates, but not always - particularly with SL viewers.

If your profession depends on a needed piece of software to perform flawlessly, you really should not be using beta/RC versions. Since you've determined RC9 has audio issues, I recommend filing a bug report and then going back to a V1.21 public release.

And, yes, RC9 is chock-full of audio issues.

I would also run a Speed test on your ISP.... Based upon that test, you will be able to set your codec up correctly... anything less then a 400-500k upload on the test you should not be running at 128k. Do the patrons remark if it is cutting out for them too? or is this just on your side?

The reason I am using thr RC viewer is because my nVidia drivers cause my shoe fitters to go up to my waist on the other viewer, and the audio did the same thing when I tried it last night.

I went ahead and lowered my encoder to 96kbs, now that I did a speed test I'm thinking my isp might be having issues because it was bad. No one else is experiencing the cutting out, just me. This is not only when I DJ, it is whenever I listen to any stream.

Thanks guys, we'll see how the day goes :)

This doesn't directly address your question, but you solve the shoes issue by rolling back your nVidia drivers to 175.xx. This is a known issue that has been going on a while. Sounds like they may have addressed it in the latest RC.
