wait a day or so, then go to the lindex and buy some lindens with the 25 dollars you deposited
you have to wait a day or so due to the way the levels work look here https://secure-web5.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.php hopefully the link will work, if not then on your account info on the website go to lindex then your billing and trading limits _____________________

Also try having a word with your prospective landlord - the fact that you've posted here already should go a long way in convincing them to let you move on "on tick" as we quaint British people say (and with the cuuutest accent too

In the future, you don't actually have to increase your credit in order to buy Lindens...on the site, you can just go straight to the Linden Dollar Exchange link on the left side of your account page and buy in any amount you like. In-world, there's a small 'L$' symbol near your funds balance at the top right of the SL client which, when clicked, gives you the option to make a Linden purchase.

Thank you everyone so much for the advice, you're all really kind. Just come on quickly before going to work. Yes, I am English with some Irish thrown in there too. My Fair Lady is a great film

I tend put in credit in advance for tier, etc.
When I buy L$ it directly comes out of credit balance first before my credit card. _____________________

you are british? ohhh I love the british accent, watched My Fair Lady yesterday, I so LOVE that movie!! hehe British accent Rha? Like the Hollywood one as exemplified by Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins? Actually, rather than complaining or listing the number of different accents easily identifiable (by me anyway) in the British Isles maybe (hijacking the thread now the OP has had their question answered) I should be constructive and ask what the inhabitants of the USA (or foreigners generally) identify as *the* "British" accent (Alan Rickman?) and whether they can distinguish the different accents in voice? Pep (I am Welsh. As far as I am concerned the British Isles are full of foreign invaders) _____________________

Taking a guess, Pep, I'd say most USAnians recognise two English accents. The educated Royal Shakespear Company tones of actors like Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellan and, indeed, Alan Rickman, and the 'mockney' of Jason Statham and his ilk.
Saying that, Alan Rickman's voice barely counts in the first category. The sneer & snarl he puts on his words in most roles lets his old 'Ammersmiff accent through. ((waits for the post asking we English correspondents how many American accents we can recognise)) _____________________

I believe that's true for market buys, but if you want to make a limit buy, then you have to increase your credit first. If you're going to be buying Lindens regularly, you're much better off learning to make limit buys. |

I almost didn't recognize him in the Batman movies, so I assume he can do multiple British accents as well. |

snip... Pep (Do Canadian, Mexican, Cuban and Colombian count?) That's an interesting point, as they are, in the sense of 'from either the North or South American continent', American languages/accents. It occasionally bugs me that there's no better was of describing something (or someone) originating from the USA as 'American'. That's why I occasionally use the slightly flippant 'USAnian' (as I did in my original post) or the considerably ruder 'Merkin'. I know of some alternatives - United States American, United Statesian, Yank - but they all vary between clumsiness and slang. Oh, and congrats Caitlin. _____________________
