Been happening to me too, keep finding myself logging into crowded welcome areas when where I want to be is perfectly ok.

Maybe the Lindens were bored and want to see how many end up naked logged into these crowded places :D

Not been able to log in at home all day. Tells me it's not available and either moves me to an infohub or brings me in on my parcel, but about 90m from the home point.

Further to my comments in another thread ("grr...";), it was a good job that I was wearing a short.

No access to my own sim
08-08-2008 02:22
Along similar lines as others have reported here, I am not allowed onto my own sim. But the error message is "sorry, you do not have access to the teleport destination."

When I try my "teleport home" link in the World menu, it sends me to a sim a few sims over from mine.

I think this is a different problem, can you access your home sim at all? That message sounds like the sim is closed or you are banned from it

I can only guess the problem the rest of us have been having, the server doesn't seem to actually know where we were last so throws us at info hubs.

Nobody on my access list nor I can get on the sim. I have IMed the seller/estate owner, but she is offline at the moment; I can only wait, wondering if it is a tier problem or some violation of the covenant or whatever.

Why would I not be notified before ejection from my own sim, though?

Could it be a prank? Has this sort of thing happened before?

Is the sim showing as online on the map? That is the first thing to check.

As for notification, there could be two reasons. 1) The sim owner has not paid their tier and LL have taken it offline 2) You have got in with an untrusty sim owner who has either sold the sim without informing or kicked you out. 3) YOu have broken the covenant, but they should inform you if that is the case.

It could be something as simple as the sim is down, let's hope.

It is online and on the map. Also, in the "my land" link in the menu it is shown as my sim still (I bought the entire sim).

The estate owner is Star Jessop and Exotic Island Real Estate, presumably reputable.

The tier or covenant thing bothers me, as I have received no contact from them at all. I am only using the sim as a home.. no businesses or whatever.

I have IMed Star Jessop and one of her employees who was with us at the point of sale.

I am only hoping it is related to the grid problems that were occuring last night. I am wondering how to look into that possibility.

This has happened to me a lot over the last couple of days. It's happened in the past as well. But I am able to tp directly home from wherever I've been dumped.

When you teleport home from the dump location, are you using the link in the World menu that says, "teleport home?"

Or are you using a landmark?

The reason I ask, even though neither method works for me, is that I get two different negative results depending on which method I try: 1. when I try from a landmark taken from different locations on the property, I get an error message saying, "sorry but you do not have access to this teleport location," 2. when I try from the "teleport home" link in the World menu, I am dumped at a foreign sim.

It tells me the same thing about the home location when I sign on, but yet it does put me there when the process completes.

I got dumped into a welcome area last night when I logged in. I was dressed but the naked peeps were stacking up like cord wood.

I learned a long time ago this is exactly why, I don't care what activity I completed, I always log off with some type of clothing.

I just used the teleport home button on the map. There have been a couple of times it's failed, but I usually get there in the end. Hope you get it sorted out. It's been fine for me today (so far!).

It has been fine now since we were last there.. the prevailing opinion around is that it was related to the grid issues.. somebody used a phrase I have not seen here yet: "sim drift."

That works for me. Scarey, but works for me.
