Question about slideshow picture frame

I have slide show type picture frames and totally love them (taking snapshots of people is my SL hobby...I always ask permission before I put pics into my frame). People watch these as if they were TVs but I see some access the frame's contents. Is there a way to keep anyone from being able to (a) access the contents of the frames, and (b) use the "stop", "back", etc. features of these types of frames?

how do you know they are accessing the contents?
as for restrictions, find one that is either auto with no other iotions or find one that has the option to restrict who uses it

they might be doing that to put the focus on the picture frame thing to help speed up the rezzing
I do it all the time to objects that are slow rezzing

Okay, yes. Thanks, Rhaorth.

Does anyone know how to keep someone from accessing the contents of these type of frames?

Nobody but the owner will have access to the contents by default. But, for the controls, you would want to filter the touch event for the owner of the frame. I'm not inworld to get the exact text, but it's something like an if statement that compares the key of the avatar that touched it to llGetOwnerKey() or something like that. (^_^)y

i imagine they are doing that too.. or.. maybe looking for the "creators" name so that they can get a frame like that themselves. i look for the creators of objects i like in other people's houses and stuff too, so i can visit the shops of the people. ~

I'm not sure what "accessing the contents" means in this case. They shouldn't be able to see the actual textures inside, but they can see the names of the texture assets and their Properties. But if that's a problem, technically, the frames wouldn't have to contain the displayed textures at all, just learn the corresponding UUIDs. And that's not too difficult to script, so that the owner (or group, or whomever) could set the frame to temporarily accept control-drag (llAllowInventoryDrop), get the UUIDs of the dropped-in textures, and then delete them. But the UI for managing the contents of the frame would be more cumbersome that way.

I am with Qui on this one, not sure what the OP means by accessing...

I have a feeling they are either doing as I suggested or as Hana suggested

Hard to answer when one is not sure what is being asked.

Well, I assume they are when i see a line from their little hand to the frame.

i think the OP assumed that when someone was "making their sparkles" go to an object it meant they were "accessing the contents" of the object.. and didn't realise that there are other reasons people select objects.

i'm pretty sure no one is actually accessing contents, but rather the OP not realising there are a lot of reasons people might "select" ("line from their little hand to the frame";) an object. To see prim count, to see creator, to get a texture to rez faster. Lots of reasons.. i think they didn't realise.
