I tried searching for this, but I can't even seem to come up with the right keywords. I was wondering if there is an island/region/community made using low impact techniques specifically designed for those who are "hardware challenged". Most places are all about the bigger, better, faster which is fine. But there's got to be at least one that isn't? Some spot were a person with an integrated gpu can ooh and ahh over two colored cubes colliding at 3FPS. Am I the only person who would find that useful/interesting?

You need to meet the builder/owner of Privateer Space. She rambles on and on and on and on about build efficiency, abuse of local lights, and sources of lag. Her sim is considered a "theme park" in her own opinion and she wants it to both be in as large in scale as possible, while at the same time, accessible to anyone regardless of hardware. (^_^)y

I've done lots of low-impact, business-grade-laptop-focused, island builds for corporate and government clients. I don't think any of them are open to the public, though, and I doubt you'd find most of them terribly exciting even if they were.
For more "normal" places, I'm sure there are a lot of responsible estate owners out there who keep their islands geared toward mid-level hardware, although I tend to doubt the effort is all that deliberate for most. If you look around you can probably find plenty of places that would be OK for your machine, even if not ideal. I don't know of any off hand I could name, though. Sorry. _____________________

Aren't the Gardens of Apollo a good example of a beautiful place that is easy on the hardware?
My system is pretty good so someone who is hardware challenged can check it out but it seemed unusually quick to rez for just a lovely place. |

A few, myself included, have designed their sims to be as low lag as possible - but lately, even when my stats are perfect, there's still lag. _____________________
