Hey all, I saw a TV at a friends place in SL and it fascinated me.
The question I have is:
How are the pictures changed on the screen?
Thanks!!

The land you are on has a setting for a media stream just as it does for the music. That media stream must be a quicktime feed for video and in conjunction with a script can make the video be played on to a prim.

Obviously, since woodbutcher was seeing video, he's already got it, try explaining parcel media to him _____________________

Obviously, since woodbutcher was seeing video, he's already got it, try explaining parcel media to him The question was worded in such a fashion that one could assume that the "friend" could have been a RL friend who was showing the OP SL on his/her computer, hence my answer. I guess I could have misread the question. ![]() _____________________

Obviously, since woodbutcher was seeing video, he's already got it, try explaining parcel media to him I didn't think it was so obvious that the OP had Quicktime either. What's more I still don't think it's obvious that the OP DOES NOT know how to stream media to a parcel. The answer was a good one..........good tip if you want to stream media to your parcel. Plus..........where's your answer? ![]() Mine? Check out the tutorial that was linked. |

In addition to streaming media, Torley Linden recently did a video tutorial on how to play YouTube clips in SL:
http://vodpod.com/watch/749678-watch-youtube-videos-in-second-life-second-life-video- I've had fun with that lately - the tutorial will take you through each step ![]() _____________________

I've never seen the appeal of video within SL. I play SL to get AWAY from the TV...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

Sometimes it's fun to get friends together for an SL movie night - preferably in PJs - since we can't do it in RL. The STS 124 launch a couple nights ago plus the EVA last night was outta this world ( and the other ) lol Just to be in the company of a bunch of like minded freinds watching a RL spectacle is awesome. To be honest . to sit alone in a skybox watching "Frasier" maybe sad . but to be part of a group watching a big event . or . even 2 people watching a movie in SL cool. It all depends where your head is at. |
