I have been experiencing a problem with a couple of residents. Wondered if anyone of you had the same problem and how you dealt with it. My problem is, I share a skybox with another resident, who was born on the same day as me. we are friends in RL, but due different work patterns we are not often on line together. Which works well with the skybox, as they have a fiancee. There are a couple of residents on here that seem convinced that i am, A) under age B) male C) my room mates alternate profile Because i will not discuss my RL with them, send them a pic or put a RL pic on my profile, or do voice chat with them. I have been age verified by Linden Labs, in doing this I had to send them my passport details, which shows them i am female, over 21 and this is my only profile. Without resorting to filing an abuse report, does anyone know how i can stop these people spreading untrue rumours?

No. In many ways, SL is like high school. some people just really get off on the drama and such. All you can do is ignore them. Maybe find a different area to hang out in and a batch of friends that doen't know this person. Anyone in SL that is a true friend won't listen to this person anyway.

That is part of the joy of SL. It is full of all kinds of people. Click ignore and move on. Try to find some people who don't thrive on drama.
Good Luck!

There isn't any way, even with the Lindens help, to make them stop telling lies about you. However you can refuse to waste any more time dealing with them or caring what they say.
Just enjoy the company of people you have reasons to care about: they will form their opinions of you based on how you treat them. If some other people who don't know you as well believe that you're someone you are not you'll play into the rumor-monger's hands if you worry about it. Just forget them and live the life you choose for yourself.

Third parties sharing information about your RL identity is a TOS violation, so you can abuse report them, even if their assumptions about you are wrong.
