Is there a way for a resident to return all objects owned by him/her within a parcel or region (without having admin privs)?
Something that ocurred to me would be really useful, especially for:
*Builders working with small and/or invisible prims
*Scripters working on physics or other movement scripts
*accident rezzing of sim-crashing objects, griefer items, etc
*anyone working with physical objects
*retrieving runaway vehicles

Just wondering if there's already a feature that does this (if so, where? I would have expected it to be under World or Tools).

fly high enough to see the whole sim,
drag select with option "select only my object" on.
take selected objects...

Not without having admin rights on the land. You have to find your own stuff like Prateyka said. Tools, select only my objects, fly up and then highlight/grab.

Id rather not. Cus doing so gets your stuff coalesced.

The snag of picking up someones stuff in one grab and sending it to the owner, The coalesced phenominon. Getting everything you own 'coalesced' (fused together) into one clump so that when you rez the clump your stuff gets tossed to the ground in its original spatial orientation. Could be a pain in the ass. If your stuff was originally spaced far apart, you will need just as big a space to rez this stuff back. A bummer if you bought a smaller house and your stuff rezzes in a nasty neighbors yard. " GET THAT BLIMP OFF MY LAWN YOU MEDDLING KIDS"

tangent: how to find small objects of others?
12-15-2007 14:19
As a parcel steward who sometimes needs to locate specific items of others that could be scattered anywhere...

Is there a beacon or some way of further highlighting objects that are owned by others?

I sometimes need to return objects on a sim for a specific person, but would like to be able to see the locations of all the objects beforehand.. what to do for very small objects? Is there a way of making the highlight bigger?

Bucky - I think there's something under World > About Land. If you own the land or have admin rights, you can highlight all objects owned by you, by others, or by a specific person.

Winter Pheonix has a point - it just becomes one massive clump of crap you'll lose again when you re-rez it somewhere. That'd be a HUGE pain if you had a haywire on_rez or anything that moves. =/

In light of that, do you guys still think a "Return All Own Objects" (or similar) feature would be unneccessary?
