Did you know that if you put on a modifiable skin, and change the texture to "clear" what will appear is not an invisible avatar, but the newb skin that lives under your really expensive skin?

i didn't even know i had freckles. LOL

I had no idea. I was hoping you would see bones and guts. I was going to do that and walk around freaking people out.

Actually, that would be a pretty good skin for someone to make. It would be kind of fun. Creepy, but fun.

i'v run into a few cool looking av's, one with his brain in a jar on his head and another just the other week with a hole in his chest, you could see a beating heart, guts, ribs and other things actually inside the avatar, was very cool

custom skins arent really 'skins'. they are textures applied to your avatars tattoo layers. ppl have played with things like skins w/ transparent lips and fingernails, so you could use those features of the default skin with a custom skin.

Yep, unfortunately the base skin layer (edited in appearance) doesn't have an alpha option to make it invisible. There is a JIRA issue for this though:
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-812

Please vote for this issue if you want it =)

It would would be especially good as we'd be able to get rid of parts of avatar without having to resort to invisi-prims and their associated bugs and glitches :)
