Do SL mentors still exist? Where do they hang out? Is there a 911 number for getting hold of them? Can they deal with griefers, or only offer advice?
Any info appreciated.

I have had a few problems since joining SL and each time I have headed back to the first Welcome area I knew, Ahern, to find a SL Mentor to get some help/advice. Unfortunately I have never found one
Do SL mentors still exist? Where do they hang out? Is there a 911 number for getting hold of them? Can they deal with griefers, or only offer advice? Any info appreciated. |

Ahern is scum. A pit of evil and villainy.
Go to Help Island Public. In addition to Mentors like myself you will find many non-volunteer but knowledgeable residents. Some tips: Everyone who can help you is standing at the center welcome area on the island. Ask "Can anyone help me?" Followed by your question. If you see a "Second Life Mentor" IM them directly. _____________________

Check Help Island Public. Also, you'll find knowledgeable and helpful people (not necessarily official Mentors) at the Help People Institute; Caledon Oxbridge University; any NCI campus; The Shelter. Mentors have no special powers, nor are they in any sense "police". They're just residents like yourself who volunteer some of their time to help others with SL. _____________________

I did a couple of years as a Mentor, and I spent it exclusively at Ahern, but I stopped (due to the IM spam) about a year ago, so if you have been going since then, then that is why I never saw you.
I wish mentors in SL were rewarded in some way by LL for their time and effort. In Blue Mars their mentors are being given free apartments. Perhaps LL should introduce something similar in SL. Rock |
