First I haven't followed as much as I should, or care to about the whole big crazy land of the lost Mature content island. What I did do though is play around in search. For instance. Type some of thse words in search and you get over 5-6 pages worth of places.

sex,xxx,bits,bdsm, etc etc etc etc.

Now, type some of these words in without the Adult content box being checked and you barely fill a page, usually a half of page worth.

parks,fun,nature,friends, etc etc etc etc.

so really I guess there was a mistake in labelling the "Mature" sims as the 2-4%ers when in all actuality(used the LL search button so its legit in my mind) its the PG sims that should be seperated off.

i hate to say it but I am glad I don't run a club or business dealing with adult things because I'd probably close up shop. Lots of credit to those of you who stick it out through this totally pointless change.

I can almosy say I see off in the far future cameras and security people living in your house so you dont do naughty things in the privacy of your own home. Ick...just, ick.

Well, we know that number is garbage. I don't know if Linden Lab actually did try to back it up since I stopped following the thread (the Lindens weren't answering my question, or any question that was interesting to me; e.g., the tough questions), though I would highly doubt it since the "research" probably consisted of a Linden going through the top 25 landmarks in her inventory, and saying, "Well, one is adult, and one might be."

However, if you want to criticize Linden Lab- and there is plenty to criticize- keep track of the argument.

1. 2% - 4% was presented as possible affected (some sort of unit- land? residents? it wasn't specified). Affected means "have to move." Only those on mainland have to move; thus, of all those Mature areas you see, take out all the ones on private estates.

2. "Adult" is supposedly (when actually defined) a separate category from Mature. Supposedly, "Adult" is limited to explicit (more than mere nudity, or mention of adult themes). Mere words like "sex, xxx, bits, bdsm" don't seem to automatically suggest Adult under these new guidelines in theory. Also, the explicit part would have to be advertised (the real phrase they want is not "advertised" but "open and notorious," because I know they don't mean to limit it to mere advertising, but I'm not helping them refine their policy if they can't answer my questions). That's how they are trying to exempt people with their sex beds.

The thing of it is, if you try to gauge the numbers just by looking around you and then trying to convert that into some scientific-sounded number, you are making the same mistake that I suspect Linden Lab has made. And of course, by withholding their "research," Linden Lab is indeed trying to prevent anyone from taking a stab at independently verifying their conclusions. If you want to spend time taking them to task (I gave up), that's where you take them to task.
