While out browsing for mainland parcels this evening I found what I thought was a great deal. A 4096 plot like I once had with some 512's close by for extra prims. Prices fairly low.
Then I noticed two of the builds on parcels bordering it had overlapping prims with radically different textures facing the parcel I was considering. They have that psychedelic flicker effect that is so distracting - large 10x10 meter patches of flicker.
I've seen a lot more of this lately. What causes people to do build like this? Laziness? Insensitivity? Or is it just another intentional way to ruin a neighborhood?
I'm starting to lean more and more toward estates again.

I'd guess it's more laziness than anything else. Or perhaps they really haven't noticed it!
But, there is an off-chance that they are hoping no one will build next to them so they can have all that space to themselves. I hadn't thought of it that way before - but it obviously would be effective!
Speaking of estates, I noticed that at least two of the expensive rental parcels in the new Linden Holiday Marketplace sims now proudly bear advertising signs for estates. Pretty expensive adfarms, if you ask me.
I need to quit stewing over the decline of mainland and go to sleep. Sweet doggie dreams!

From: Weston Graves ... Then I noticed two of the builds on parcels bordering it had overlapping prims with radically different textures facing the parcel I was considering. ... Were they for sale ??? If so then ya could be a pressure tactic. If not then welcome to the mainland =) A 12 metre high waterfall always look nice at one end of the property with a little stream wandering down to pool in front of your house or store. A few trees and plants. A little bridge and some ducks. Can be made quite nice really. Build them out ??? Nooo! Is just a lovely garden =)

I landmarked the place so maybe it will look better by tomorrow.

I'm starting to lean more and more toward estates again. Maybe they just run an old computer at low graphics settings and can't see the problem.
