I some profiles here with a pic of the Avie and I like that. I took a photo just for that purpose but, no matter how much I try to resize it I keep getting the message that it is too big to put here. I believe it says that it has too many pixels in it. How do I get my Avie's picture here?

Also, is there someway to take a photo inworld to either use in your profile or to give to someone without saving it to your hard drive?

Mary, the picture for the forum needs to be as follows:

From: someone

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 97.7 KB (whichever is smaller).

That means you need to take it into an image editing program and crop and/or shrink it to that size.

In world, the photo to disk/snapshot options are in one of the drop-down menus at the top, I'm not in world now to be more precise. Maybe someone else can say.

sometmes size refers to file size too, you might need to save the image in a diff format (for example .bmp is huge)

1. If you have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro or some other image editing program, don't just re-size the photo...change the "image size". For example, your image might be 512x512 pixels. Edit that down to 100x100, save as a .gif or .jpeg.

2. Yes, you can take a snapshot without saving to your hard drive...but I almost never do, because the shot can be improved so much by cropping, resizing, adding filters, and so on. Also, the Profile pic areas are 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. Snapshots are square (at least, mine are...maybe I'm missing something). Square pictures look all stretched out in Profiles.

There are many people in game that do Profile photo's in their studios.. You can get them to do one for you.. Contact Nahtasha Zenovka for example. Or just take a snap shot when the box comes up select upload snapshot. You will find this in your Photo Albums with the name being the area where you took the pic. Simply drag it to your profile pic box.

It's actually 50 x 50px for the avatar picture at the left of people's posts.
