So I will be using my chim and I will stop dancing for 10 seconds or so in between dances. Does anyone know why this would happen?

Well, it could be that the chimera is scripted to run an animation for a certain length of time and the animation isn't that long. Or it could be lag. In my case, I found it was both.

It could also be lag in the sim that you're in. I get that with Huddles for the first run through of the dances, after they have been loaded once, it seems to work ok.

Could also be that you're pausing as the sim sends your viewer the info needed to show the animation. I see these kinds of pauses happen a lot after I cache-clear.

Most of the time I notice a delay only when the dances are run for the first time in a long time... Because they've been 'garbage cleaned' from the cache. (^_^)
What I do, when I plan to use my Chim in a specific place, is simply cycle through my whole collection just to get the animations downloaded into my cache again. I usually don't wait for each dance to start, the download often completes once triggered anyway. It takes only a short while, though it may be a bit embarrassing to go from dance-to-dance, but it's worth it. (^_^) It's best to do it when you're already in the view of the people around you too... So that their cache is loaded at the same time. (^_^)y _____________________

Or you have an AO active and need to turn it off?
This is what happens to me anyway. If I forget to turn my AO off.. when that kicks in with the next pose/stand/walk.... I stop dancing.... then the dance kicks back in for the next one. |

I have an older chim, from mid 2005 I guess. It's always paused like that. Dunno why I'm too cheap to buy a more up to date one.

there are two types of dance chims ... one that runs the dances together seamlessly and another (usually cheaper) that does pause between the dances.
what one do you have specifically? this might be the case. |
