Hi,

Before I ask, I just want to say that I know this is a subject which gets a lot of people's backs up and people can get very annoyed over them, but this thread is purely for informational purposes. I do not wish to start a discussion which is going to get people so riled up that someone gets upset. And neither do I want to start a LL bashing thread. :D so play nice,.... please :)

I just wanted to know,

What is a landbot exactly? Can someone explain what they are to me?

Thanks

It's a piece of software which logs into sl and attempts to buy land. Specifically, land listed cheaply which can / could be resold for a profit.

It's called a bot because it acts (& looks) like an av in-world, but it's guided by the software. Being software driven, it can respond to land listed below a target price quicker than a human could, and can tp there and buy it practically instantaneously.

They can also run practically continuously, not needing to do stuff like eat & sleep.

(How's that for a drama-free description? :) )

I am mightily Impressed. With a capital I.

I can see why people get so annoyed with them.
