I had my friend join SL tonight and I've been walking him through how to use controls and go places. He wanted to go to an adult parcel but every time I try to TP him, he gets told he's "not mature enough". He's age verified and keeps going into his preferences and changing it to allow all 3 types and clicks "apply", but it still isn't letting him. What's going on?

Some Sims set an age limit on your Avatar , to try and limit Griefers who create new avis to cause trouble i think , so unless your Avatar is , say 30 days old you cant get in, it might tell him how many days he needs to be befoire he can access the sims , I am of course assuming that it is only certain sims and not all Adult sims?

Could also be that the parcels you were trying to access were using the out-dated and badly-implemented parcel-level "age verification requirement", which ONLY accepts Aristotle age verification as proof of age. Just having Adult checked in your preferences and payment info on file doesn't cut it. But that parcel-level setting is VERY buggy, sometimes keeping out people who ARE age verified via Aristotle, and sometimes allowing access to people with no age proof at all.
Best advice? Find some other places to visit, and forget about that one.

To better pinpoint exactly what the problem might be, I would have him try getting to a variety of Adult sims. Additionally, if he just joined and used Payment Info to be Account Verified, that might take a bit of time to be recognized inworld. Heck, for all I know, the actual Aristotle Age Verification might even take some time to be recognized inworld.
Also, as Grondar mentioned, if the message is referring to the "age of the avatar", then only time will fix that as it is totally based off of the avatar's rez date.

What happens? Does he get there and then find himself TP-d off home (or at least removed from the parcel) and gets a blue dialog message saying, "you're not old enough" (which would indicate a security device)? Or can't he tp in the in the first place and gets an error message to the effect "your maturity settings are wrong" (or whatever) when he tries? The exact wording of the message he gets would help diagnose the problem, I think.

you have to restart after you do the age verification thing, could that be it?
