Help! I just moved into my first apartment, and did not landmark it as HOME. Since I teleport everywhere and don't really know that many physical paths yet, I teleported away from home and cannot find my way back. Not that anyone should know how to direct me back to my apartment, but is there some way (that I am unaware of) for me to find an option that allows me to simple teleport to property that I am renting? I can get back to the general area but cannot find a teleport pad to get me to my unit. I feel so clueless.

Just what I was going to say. :) Use the website to go to "my account", then pull up your transaction history. The region name of where you paid your rent will be shown in the transaction. Either type that region name into the map or search, and you will be back in your home sim and able to find your new place. :)

Hmm I'd start with the Transactions History on the website: http://secondlife.com/account/transactions.php

If you find a transaction where you paid rent, it should tell you who the landowner is, perhaps even the region you were in when you paid. Then you can send the landowner an IM :)

After you get there and Set Home, also take a landmark and rename it so you can find it. It is sometimes too easy to accidentally click on Set Home in the menus and end up resetting your home.

Check your Inventory under Notecards and Landmarks and see if you unknowingly accepted one or both from your landlord when you were going through the whirlwind of renting. Sometimes you will get a Note from the rental office with an SLURL link that you can click on. It usually takes you to the rental office, but at least you'll be close.

I've lost a lot of stuff, but never my home, at least, not yet :-) Good luck and welcome to SL...Jackie

Why don't you ask the girl you took back there last night if *she* made a lm there?

Pep (Is there another reason to rent?)

He would if he had made a note of her name.

FTR, you'll only be able to set it as Home if you joined a renter's group when you moved in.
